Amerigo Vespucci was an Italian explorer born in Florence, Italy, in 1451. As a young teen Vespucci was very intelligent and studied the stars and navigation. Later on, Vespucci began to work on ships, and when his ships were finished, he sailed him to the designated destination. That is Vespucci's motive for travel. It's also something he loved very much to do. Amerigo Vespucci was the first Europen traveler to arrive at the "New World." In his very famous letters to Lerenzo de Pier Francesco de Medici, Vespucci decided a new continent he Allegedly found, which he referred to as "America." Vespucci became a Spanish citizen in 1505 and later became a government chief navigator. He navagated until hi died in 1502.
